FORD is moving upmarket with a luxury lifestyle range called Vignale.

The high specification cars will be aimed at those who relish exclusivity.

With plenty of bright work in the trim and a plush leather interior which includes quilted patterned seats, the Vignale puts Ford in the same arena as high class Audis, Mercedes and Jaguars.

It will be launched in 2015 on the next generation Mondeo and is Ford's answer to the so-called brand experience such as that created by Apple.

As well as luxury on the move those buying a Vignale Ford will receive special treatment at dealers and other VIP privileges plus the option to indulge in exclusive extras such as a bespoke set of luggage.

Launching the range at an exclusive preview prior to its debut at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Martin Smith, Ford's European design director, said: "The Ford Mondeo Vignale Concept is a major step for us at Ford and reflects our desire to innovate by listening to our customers.

"Other Vignale models will follow, creating a true upmarket Ford brand."

The Vignale treatment is a step beyond the Ghia trim levels of previous generation top grade Fords and will be competitively priced.

Ford is hinting that the Mondeo Vignale will be less than £35,000.

The concept car was revealed in a lush brown metallic paint finish and includes shiny 20-inch alloy wheels and a distinctive mesh grille as well as a high tech interior.
