MOST of us would rather buy a house than a Bentley Continental - they're both about the same price.
But if I win the lottery a V8S Convertible will be right at the top of my shopping list - just for the fantastic sound that thrums from its massive oval exhausts.
Now, I've written before about the sound of a car adding so much to the enjoyment of driving it. And there is nothing quite like the sound that comes from a V8 engine on song.
But the burble and blast of noise from this Bentley is a pure adrenalin rush - especially with the roof down on a country road in the sunshine. Bliss.
Old petrolheads like me can never get enough of these simple things in life but, of course, the Bentley is much more.
Four wheel drive makes sure all those turbocharged horses get down onto the tarmac for stupendous performance, the cornering ability is brilliant and the ride good enough for a thousand miles without tiring.
Other cars have a list of extras as long as your arm. The Bentley simply has everything you could possibly want as standard - from beautiful leather and wood, to sat nav and air conditioned seats.
It's also the only convertible in the supercar class I can think of that will seat five people, all with seatbelts. Roll on that lotto win.
