PEUGEOT is launching a special edition of its 108 city car and reviving its connection with the French Open Tennis Championship.

The Peugeot 108 Roland Garros is the latest in a series of models from the car maker which have been linked with the championships and the clay court tennis centre in Paris, both named after the French aviation pioneer of the early 1900s.

The special 108 is priced from £12,495 and is based on the 1.2-litre TOP! cabrio version of the car in high specification Allure trim.

It will be available in either black or white finishes, both with distinctive orange door mirror cappings and includes automatic air conditioning as well as 15-inch alloy wheels.

Inside it has grey cloth upholstery with orange trim and Roland Garros branded floor mats.

The car will be released after this year's French tennis championships - where Peugeot brand ambassador Novak Djokovik is defending his title - which is being staged from May 19 to June 7.

Peugeot first started producing Roland Garros special editions back in 1989 with exclusive versions of the 205 and 405 estate.
