A DYNAMIC duo of hot hatches have been added to the Megane Renaultsport stable in the shape of the new 275 Cup-S and 275 Nav models.

The 275 Cup-S is priced at £23,935 while the 275 Nav - which replaces the outgoing 265 variant - is slightly more expensive at £25,935 and offers an extra 10bhp of punch.

Both newcomers feature the same 2.0-litre, 275bhp turbocharged petrol engine that last year powered the 275 Trophy-R to break the lap record for a front-wheel-drive production car around the 13-mile Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit.

As is the case with previous Renaultsport models to carry the ‘Cup' moniker, the 275 Cup-S features an uprated chassis as standard.

Owners wanting to further sharpen the car's responses - particularly for track use - can specify several components developed between Renaultsport and performance specialists.

The car's gearbox is a six-speed manual with ratios gauged to maximise the dynamic performance of the engine and acceleration from 0-62mph takes 6.0 seconds with a top speed of 158mph. Combined fuel consumption is 37.7mpg, with CO2 emissions of 174g/km.

And the Renaultsport Dynamic Management system, which gives access to the full 275bhp, has three modes linked to the Electronic Stability Control set-up.

In Normal mode the car develops 250bhp and has standard throttle mapping with the ESC fully on.

Sport mode raises the power to 275bhp and has sport throttle mapping and later ESC intervention while Race mode also delivers 275bhp with sport throttle mapping, but switches off the ESC completely.

Other features of the 275 Cup-S include a PerfoHub double-axis front suspension, Öhlins Road & Track adjustable dampers, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and a bespoke titanium exhaust system that cuts 4kg from the vehicle weight and generates a more raucous engine note.

The Megane Renaultsport 275 Nav delivers identical performance to the 275 Cup-S from the same engine, but has a specification more suited to everyday road driving.

It comes with the standard Sport chassis, but has more compliant suspension, while standard wheels are 18-inch alloys with a satin anthracite finish and Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres.

A unique option on the 275 Nav is the Renaultsport Leather Pack with heated front seats, carbon grey Renaultsport leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory function and adjustable lumber support.

Both versions are available in standard Glacier White or six metallic colours, including the new Flame Red - first seen on the Clio - and the striking Liquid Yellow.
