Philips, has moved into the increasingly popular dash-cam market with two feature-packed models: the ADR 610 and ADR 810.

“Philips approach to dash-cams is to come in with products that have features directly relevant to the needs of the motorists and the situations that they are designed for,” explains Richard Armstrong who is responsible for sales and marketing of Philips Automotive Products in the UK. “Philips is renowned as a top brand in the audio-visual market and these products reflect the quality standards for which Philips is well known. People buying a Philips dash-cam will be sure that they are getting a product which is really fit for purpose.”

A number of functions are common to both, with each having Automatic recording which commences as soon as the vehicle is started up; Collision detection & emergency file protection so that, if an accident happens, an emergency date and time-stamped video sequence is automatically saved, to secure the evidence and prevent overwriting. This works in conjunction with and instant replay to clarify responsibility on the spot.

Footage is captured in full 1080 high definition and, with the units’ advanced sensors, both are also able to offer clear low light images and good night visibility. The units have a seamless recording pattern of 30 frames per second, so that excellent fluid images are captured whatever the speed. Playback happens through an LCD screen with built-in playback software for real-time viewing on the spot.

Both models also have a fatigue index, which shows the evolution of driver’s fatigue, alerting the driver both visually and through sound when the driver needs to take a rest.

As would be expected with a Philips product, a great deal of attention has been given to the ergonomics of the products. The ultra-compact design of the entry level ADR610 prevents the driver’s vision being obscured, as it is designed to fit behind the rearview mirror and when driving at night the LCD screen automatically turns off, for added safety.

Philips dash-cams are available for immediate delivery and can be bought online through Powerbulbs - www.powerbulbs.co.uk - as well as through good retail outlets across the UK and Ireland.
