PICK-UP truck specialist Isuzu is planning a year of special events to mark its centenary.
The company was founded in Tokyo in 1916 and this year is a double milestone for the brand which is also celebrating 30 years of operations in Britain and record sales last year.
In 2015 Isuzu sold 6,220 D-Max pick-ups, representing an incredible 478 per cent increase over the 1,076 models registered in 2009.
As part of its birthday plans, a UK-only special edition will join the D-Max line-up in the spring complete with premium accessories and extensive upgrades.
The Isuzu UK team is also working on a one-off development vehicle based on the standard D-Max, which will show-off the versatile pick-up's key strengths like never before.
Isuzu models are imported to the UK by International Motors, based near Coleshill in Warwickshire, and while the D-Max has proved to be its best seller, among the varied range of vehicles it has brought to these shores it was the Trooper 4x4 that really set Isuzu UK on its way back in the 1990s.
