F-PACE drives JLR
sales success
JAGUAR and Land Rover are celebrating their biggest ever full-year worldwide sales with the twin luxury brands selling more than one car every minute in 2016.
This is the company's seventh successive year of growth in sales, with retails in 2016 almost triple the 2009 figure, topping 583,000.
Europe was the company's largest sales region with sales last year of 138,695, up 26 per cent year on year and sales were up across all other regions: 31 per cent in China, 25 per cent in North America and 17 per cent in the UK.
A total of 117,571 Jaguars and Land Rovers were bought by customers in the UK - its bestfull-yearresults in the company's history.
JLR say it was primarily driven by sales of the JaguarF-PACE,XE and XF. These new models have propelled Jaguar to become the fastest growing premium brand in the US, outpacing the nearest competition in the luxury car sector by 116 per cent.
Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group sales operations director, said:"This has been a significant year for Jaguar Land Rover, with updated models being introduced across the range, as well as the completely new Land Rover Discovery Sport and the JaguarF-PACE.It is particularly pleasing to see the Jaguar brand setting impressive new sales records.
"Customer response has been very positive this year, resulting in record retails across most of our key regions. These results mark significant steps in Jaguar Land Rover's strategy to become a truly global business and meet the growing international demand for its two iconic brands.
"I am confident that in 2017 our Britishline-upwill continue to expand and delight in markets across the world."
Investment will continue to be made, with Jaguar Land Rover saying it will set aside more than £3 billion in its products and facilities in over the next twelve months and the company is now one of the UK's largest exporters and generates over 80 per cent of its revenue from exports.
The next model to come from the JLR stable is the all-new Land Rover Discovery which is due for release in the spring.
