THE first mainstream Renault to be made in Korea and sold in Britain will be on sale later this year when the all-new Koleos SUV arrives in the UK.

Priced from £27,500, the new Koleos will sit above the Kadjar in Renault's line up of SUVs and crossovers.

The Koleos is built in Busan in South Korea where Renault has an arrangement with Samsung to build cars, mainly for Asian markets.

At 4,672mm long the Koleos is bigger than a Land Rover Discovery Sport and comes with a boot of 458 litres extending to 1,690 litres with the quick release folding rear seats.

Two and four wheel drive variants will be available in the six model line up with the Koleos having a ground clearance of almost 10 inches and a towing limit of two tonnes.

All models will be powered by diesel engines with the entry level front-wheel-drive version using Renault's 1.6-litre, 130bhp dCi unit which gives emissions of 128g/km and an official fuel return of 57.6mpg.

A 2.0-litre 175bhp diesel will power the Koleos 4x4 models including the range topping Signature Nav automatic which is priced from £34,200.

Renault says the new Koleos has plenty of space inside with rear seat leg room among the biggest in the SUV sector at 289mm.

Standard equipment includes a full array of safety systems including lane departure and blind spot warnings as well as automatic emergency braking.

Parking sensors and a high definition reversing camera are also fitted on all models, as is sat nav and automatic lights and wipers.

The new Koleos will be covered by a four year, 100,000 mile warranty and the first models are expected to be on the road in the UK later this summer.
