Sporty Vauxhall
Insignia ready to
roll
VAUXHALL is set to debut its all-new performance-oriented Insignia GSi at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Ahead of the premiere it has just released the first images and details of the new motor which it says will deliver high levels of performance through all-wheel drive, a new chassis and Brembo brakes.
The Insignia GSi will be powered by a refined 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
The performance model of Vauxhall's latest flagship has an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which can be operated via a paddle-shift on the steering wheel.
Exterior design updates include chrome air intakes at the front and a rear spoiler for extra levels of downforce.
On the inside the car has full-leather sports seats, a leather sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals.
The GSi's chassis has been fine-tuned and developed on the iconic Nurburgring circuit in Germany and the GSi is 160kg lighter than the mainstream Insignia.
The 2.0 litre turbo engine in the GSi produces 260bhp and generates 400Nm of torque and Vauxhall is claiming a combined fuel consumption of 32.8mpg with emissions of 197g/km.
