Kenari is Perodua's

budget beater

ANYONE looking for a budget priced car would be hard pressed to beat one of the two models available from Malaysian car maker Perodua.

And there has never been a better time to order one as the company is offering a £1,000 cashback payment on both models.

The Kenari is claimed to be the best priced mini-MPV on the market and with the special deal the 1.0-litre manual GX model is available from£5,799.

If you want an automatic then the EZi version is available for a little more at £6,599.

The Kenari comes with power steering, electric windows, electric door mirrors, metallic paint and a radio CD player all as standard.

A high roofline means plenty of headroom with tall doors facilitating easy access. The rear door is side hinged allowing easy loading.

The small, but punchy three cylinder, 1.0-litre engine offers 50 miles per gallon on average which equates to 450 miles between fill ups.

Perodua's other car is the trendy little MYVI hatchback.

The Myvi is powered by a 1.3-litre, four cylinder engine and is available as either a manual or an automatic with a top speed of 106 miles per hour and 102mph respectively.

With the cashback deal the SXi, the manual, is priced at £6,799 on-the-road. Step up to the automatic EZi version and it will cost you £7,499 on-the-road. Running costs are low too with the SXi averaging 48 miles per gallon and EZi 44mpg.

The Myvi comes well equipped despite its budget price, with features like air conditioning, electric windows front and rear, power steering, electric mirrors and metallic paint all standard features.

The cars have a full three year, 30,000-mile warranty.

The Myvi was only introduced into the UK in 2007 but Perodua has been selling cars in the UK for more than 10 years.
