Blown away by

Peugeot roadster

I LOVE it when a car maker shows what it can really do and Peugeot has just blown me away.

The French maker has come up with a stunning two seat sports car with petrol-electric hybrid power and a top speed of 155mph.

The SR1 was unveiled at the company's 200th anniversary celebrations as its blueprint for the future.

They say it's purely a concept, but when a car looks as good as this and promises just as much in the driving, the company would be more than a couple of bricks short of a load if it didn't bring it to production.

The SR1 has four wheel drive and a total power output of over 300bhp, with a 1.6 turbo petrol engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor pushing from the rear.

This leaves it with emissions of just 119g/km and a claimed 57 miles to every oh-so expensive gallon.

It even comes with all wheel steering, and while the shape might not make production, the Hybrid 4 drive system is already here in the 3008.

Interior spec for the great looking roadster is sketchy, but expect it to have everything that we all look for in our cars these days.
