Infiniti's svelte
super coupe
NISSAN'S high quality brand Infiniti is still trying to find its place in the car market here, but it certainly has much to offer.
I had a short drive in the G37S coupe recently and found it quick and responsive, comfortable and refined.
It's also attractive to look at, and will always have the cachet of being a rarity in any car park - at least for the time being.
Plant the right foot and the 3.7-litre V6 - which comes from the 370Z - has a lovely exhaust note and gives huge acceleration whenever needed and from whatever speed.
Permenent four wheel drive in the S helps get all that power down onto the blacktop with immense ease, and also helps give very good road holding with tremendous grip.
Comfort is excellent - as you would expect at this level as long as you are not driving a Porsche 911 - but economy is not great and emissions are pretty high.
The rear seats cater well for kids but will not fit adults and the boot is quite shallow. Leather upholstery is standard and the level of equipment makes it a direct competitor for Lexus, since there is little or nothing that could be improved upon!
