THE wraps have been lifted on a revised VW Eos coupe convertible before its first public viewing at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
The front is dominated by a new grille complete with chrome highlights to create the impression that it is wider and lower than the existing car.
Other styling changes bring it into line with the latest Polo, Passat and Sharan models.
New headlights, similar to those in the Golf, have the option of integrated LED day running lights and there's a revised front bumper featuring new airdams and fog lights.
The five-piece folding roof with its innovative integrated tilt/slide glass sunroof is as before, but the facility is now available with keyless entry, to open it from some distance away.
The new car will be available early next year with a range of petrol and diesel engines.
These include a 1.4 122bhp TSI petrol, a 2.0-litre TSI producing 210bhp and the excellent 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine with 140bhp.
There are new trim finishes in the cabin, including a leather multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, eight-speaker CD stereo system and sports seats.
The diesel comes with automatic Stop/Start and battery regeneration systems, so it can return combined economy of 58.8 mpg.
