Proton steps on the

gas

DESPITE the tough economic climate there is one car company which has always had a reputation for delivering value for money.

Malaysian car brand Proton is becoming something of a specialist in gas-powered vehicles which help save pounds at the pumps.

On top of that the company is also running a series of offers to make motoring more affordable.

For example, when purchasing a new Proton via the Proton Finance Scheme, buyers will become eligible for a deposit contribution of up to £1,250.

There are also free leather upgrades available on the GEN-2 Ecologic GSX  which is Proton's Dual Fuel LPG gas car and also on the GEN-2 GSX.

Proton stress that the GEN-2 Ecologic offers motorists a real viable alternative to regular diesel and petrol driven cars.

Vehicles running on Liquefied Petroleum Gas produce less carbon dioxide and also emit fewer other harmful emissions such as oxides of nitrogen and microscopic particles, known as PM10s which are found in petrol and diesel.

As well as being better for the environment, LPG offers some serious running cost savings being currently priced at 76.2p a litre on average, compared with regular unleaded petrol at 128.6p and diesel at 133.3p.

Proton's latest new car line-up comprises three models and 10 variants, with the Savvy hatchback weighing in at £7,995, GEN-2 hatchback and saloon priced from £9,195 to £11,195 and the Satria Neo costing from £10,195 to £11,195.
