INFINITI'S G37S is a marvellous super coupe to rival BMW and Audi at what they do best.
On top of that, when all the extras are added to the others to bring them up to the G37's spec, the BMW 335i coupe is £3,200 more and the Audi S5 £4,200.
As far as I'm concerned, that means Infiniti has got it right. Why should anyone have to be bothered with extras at this exalted level? It should all be included.
Infiniti is the luxury arm of Nissan and the G37 uses the same marvellous V6 engine as the 370Z.
But it is so well insulated that there is virtually no engine noise at any speed. That said there is a good deal of tyre and wind noise.
Gearchanges with the optional seven-speed automatic are seamless and it has sport and manual settings with paddles on the steering column to change.
It also comes with a huge number of electronic aids to help keep on the blacktop, but that's not to say that its handling and road-holding are anything but excellent.
It rides comfortably even over potholed roads in town and makes a true alternative to the market leaders.
The leather trimmed cabin is a joy to sit and ride in with almost everything in perfect reach of the driver.
