THE latest car in Citroen's innovative semi-coupe DS range was revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show
The DS5 is a good looking, slinky five door hatch and the company claims ground-breaking style, a rewarding driving experience and exceptional refinement.
It's the first car in the company's range to have the HYbrid4 diesel hybrid setup shared with Peugeot.
And it should give excellent performance combined with class leading environmental credentials.
The system has a total of 200bhp with both electric and petrol drive working together but it's better than that because it also gives four-wheel drive and emission-free electric power for the city, with total CO emissions of just 99g/km.
Flowing lines, a sleek profile and muscular wheel arches give the DS5 an undoubted air of refinement.
And the front end styling instantly identifies it as a member of the DS family with an oversized air intake, a large chrome-finished grille and a new LED light signature.
Inside, the company claims a charismatic feel with a driver-focused cockpit and a coupé-like driving position.
The array of buttons, switches, and other controls are grouped on two central consoles, one low down and the other above the driver's head, like an aircraft.
A colour head-up displayprojects information into the driver's line of sight.
