coupe
VOLKSWAGEN'S new coupe cabriolet the CC will cost from £24,200 when it hits the streets in mid-April.
The car, successor to the Passat CC, made its debut at the Los Angeles Show last November, and ranges from the entry level 1.8-litre TSI 160PS rising to the flagship GT 2.0-litre TDI 170PS DSG with BlueMotion Technology at £30,100.
With the same blend of four-door practicality and coupe-like styling as its predecessor, the CC is updated to incorporate Volkswagen's fresh design language of new grille, reprofiled bumpers and LED tail lights.
Standard spec includes a touchscreen sat-nav system, DAB digital radio, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, 2Zone climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights and brake energy recuperation on all models.
Safety features include a driver alert system, ESP electronic stability programme and four-way adjustable front head restraints, to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries.
From launch, the UK engine range will comprise 1.8-litre TSI 160PS or 2.0-litre TSI 210PS petrol units and a 2.0-litre TDI common rail diesel with either 140 or 170PS.
All models with 170PS or more also now get a standard XDS differential, which is an electronic cross-axle traction control system for improved traction and handling.
