Aston Martin V8 Vantage coupe

ASTON MARTIN is heralding the most comprehensive programme of enhancements since 2008 for its entry level V8 Vantage sports car.

Revised versions of the 4.7-litre 420bhp coupe and roadster, which costs from £84,995, feature a string of improvements first seen in the fiery Vantage S.

While the standard six-speed manual transmission remains, the optional six-speed automated manual has now been replaced with a seven-speed Sportshift II box - designed specifically for Aston Martin - provides faster and more precise shifts.

Dynamic enhancements include quicker steering, bigger brakes and wider tyres, while stopping power and pedal feel have been boosted by new ventilated front discs and six piston callipers.

This new braking system also includes Hill Start Assist and the tyres are 10mm wider than the outgoing model.

Styling changes comprise a lower front bumper housing a larger air intake to feed the engine and front brakes while a rear diffuser and sculpted race-derived side sills complete the more muscular look.

The £99,995 Vantage S remains the best equipped and highest performing V8-engined model in the range with its 430bhp of punch and unique sports exhaust system.

Carbon fibre detailing, hand-stitched leather upholstery and a sat-nav system developed in conjunction with Garmin is now fitted as standard along with Bluetooth and cruise control.

Meanwhile, production of the V12 Vantage continues unchanged - a 6.0-litre engine producing 510bhp, top speed of 190mph and 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds.

And later this year the Vantage range will be joined by the limited edition V12 Zagato, created to celebrate the 50 anniversary of the iconic DB4GT Zagato.
