SPORTIER on the outside and with a more upmarket feel inside, the latest, upgraded version Mazda's global top-seller, the Mazda3, is now on sale in the UK.

A massive line up of 16 variants includes two new Sport models and there are two, highly equipped Tamura models produced exclusively as launch limited editions.

But many punters might be more attracted by the 1.6 TS variant which has been reduced in price by a whopping £2,300 compared with the outgoing model.

Prices start at £13,495 for the entry-level S model which comes with manual air-conditioning and electric front windows. Next up, the TS models have dual-zone climate control while TS specification adds a heated windscreen and integrated Bluetooth hands-free system.

The new Sport derivatives - available only with the 115ps 1.6 litre diesel engine - are fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels and a Bose audio system with 10 speakers and the Sport Nav models have a fully integrated, satellite navigation system.

The launch edition Tamura models are come with a sports styling pack, front fog lights and unique 17-inch, black gloss, diamond cut alloy wheels.

Fuel economy across the range has been enhanced thanks to improved aerodynamics which cut Cd to just 0.29. Mazda's engineers have fine-tuned the suspension and steering to deliver more feel plus a smoother ride and improved refinement.

Changes on the inside include a black lower dashboard console and satin-polish silver trim for the dials and controls.
