Infiniti ramps up
the FX factor
INFINITI'S top selling model in Europe, the FX premium SUV, has just received its first makeover since UK sales began four years ago.
And despite a raft of enhancements that give the freshened model more street presence than its predecessor, the range comes at unchanged 2011 prices, starting from £46,750 for the luxury FX37 GT model, and £90 more for the V6 diesel equivalent.
So the latest FX gets a new front-end style with its grille based on a design explored by the Essence concept car of 2009, new colours and new design alloy wheels.
Of the four trim grades the FX37 GT at £46,750 is powered by a 3.7-litre petrol V6 engine producing 316bhp, while the FX30d has a 3.0-litre V6 diesel with 235bhp and costs £46,840.
The more sporty S versions come with Rear Active Steering and Continuous Damping Control, and boast 21-inch alloy wheels, smoked headlights, red S badging and dark chrome exterior air vent and sill strip. Prices are £48,850 and £48,940 (diesel).
Premium models starting at £51,200 are the most popular FX versions in the UK and include advanced navigation and entertainment systems, plus Lane Departure Prevention.
Both petrol and diesel V6s are available in Premium guise, along with the 385bhp 5.0-litre V8 of the FX50 performance flagship, available in S Premium guise only at £58,250.
