MG raises quality
stakes
BUYERS of MG6 GT and Magnette models will pay slightly less for their cars - and the company is putting it down to improved production methods.
Many of the production advances have been made at MG Motor UK's factory in Birmingham where final assembly and quality sign-off of the MG6 range is carried out, and where the cars are designed and engineered.
The latest 2012 model year cars see CO figures drop from 184g/km to 174g/km which reduces the Vehicle Excise Duty by one band, saving £50 on the first year's road tax and £20 a year after that.
Fuel economy is also improved, with the Combined figure rising from 35.6 to 37.7 miles per gallon.
The improved VED figures mean that the recommended on-the-road prices for all MG6 models are reduced by £40, entry to MG6 ownership now starting from £15,455 for a GT fastback in S model trim.
Prices for MG6 GT models in SE trim are reduced from £16,995 to £16,955 and the TSE trim model comes down the same amount to £18,955 due to the changes. The flagship MG6 Magnette model is now £19,955.
MG is also now offering zero per cent finance on entry level MG6 models, meaning customers can select the amount of deposit so long as it is a minimum of 40 per cent of the £15,455 price.
