Cayenne is torque of
the town
PORSCHE has lifted the wraps on a new diesel 4x4 boasting the most pulling power of any Cayenne model currently on sale.
The new Cayenne S Diesel has a 4.2-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine developing 381bhp and 850Nm of torque, allowing the car to sprint from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 157mph.
And as the only V8 diesel SUV to have auto start/stop the Porsche has the potential for an average 34 miles per gallon and CO2 emissions of 218g/km.
It means that with a 100-litre fuel tank, the car can be driven for more than 745 miles without a refuel.
Porsche says the brakes, with silver callipers, have been optimised to handle the car's power output, while black front intake grilles emphasise the car's open air inlets. There are also ‘diesel' badges on the front wings.
The Cayenne S Diesel will cost from £58,243 and arrive in January. Standard equipment includes Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive, leather interior, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, cruise control, audio system with seven-inch touch-screen, eight-way powered front seat adjustment, electric windows and 18-inch alloy wheels.
