A NEW entry-level version of Nissan's popular Navara double cab pick-up arrives is aimed primarily at the business market.

Named the Navara Visia, the newcomer introduces an updated version of the brand's 2.5-litre dCi common-rail diesel engine.

It is capable of up to 39.8mpg on the extra urban cycle and will cost from £17,995.

Nissan says its engineers have worked to provide smart savings in specification, so the interior door handles are finished in black rather than chrome, the front bumper is in body colour rather than two-tone, the grille struts are painted rather than chromed and conventional wiper blades are used in place of the flat ones found on higher spec versions.

But the Navara's abilities remain unchanged, the Visia providing a 2.36m load bed and practical internal bed length of 1,511mm, while towing capacity is 2,600kg and maximum payload 1,250kg.

Standard kit includes part-time four-wheel drive, air conditioning, central door locking, six airbags, a CD player, Bluetooth and ESP.

Nissan sales chief Jon Pollock said: "We're working hard to develop our LCV offering as well as respond to customer needs and the introduction of the Navara Visia is a shining example of this."
