M6 heralds a new
arrival
BMW calls it the most powerful letter in the world - and there's no doubting the punch delivered by the newest addition to the brand's M line-up.
It comes in the shape of the new M6 Gran Coupe - the first four-door car to sport the M badge - which will cost £97,490 when it arrives next May.
This third design to join the M6 model range boasts a 560bhp V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology to supply supercar performance.
Headline figures are acceleration of 0-62 in just 4.2 seconds and on to an electronically limited 155mph, while fuel economy is a Combined 28.5mpg with CO2 emissions of 232g/km.
The front of the Gran Coupe is dominated by its large air intakes, adaptive LED headlights and a chrome kidney grille designed specifically for this model, distinguishable from the M6 Coupe thanks to its rear doors and longer wheelbase.
Flared wheel arches highlight a wide track and there are also exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels, twin exhaust tailpipes and a diffuser made from carbon fibre reinforced plastic which optimises airflow along the car's underbody.
M Sport seats for the driver and passenger come as standard as does Merino leather upholstery, while the rear seats - comprising two adult and one suitable for occasional use - split 60/40 to boost luggage capacity from 460 to a maximum 1,265 litres.
Standard equipment includes leather trim, heated driver and front passenger seats, auto dimming rear-view and exterior mirrors, BMW Professional Multimedia Navigation system and BMW Professional radio.
You also get multi-function seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, Soft Close Automatic function for the doors, electrically operated sun blinds and a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Audio system.
Driver assistance features include head-up display and park distance control as standard while the likes of a rear-view camera, lane change warning, surround view and BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition are options.
