IF you're going to stay close to home, the 60bhp SEAT Mii city car might be OK.
But if you're contemplating longer forays out into the wild blue yonder, go for the more powerful 75bhp model.
The engine is the same 1.0-litre three cylinder in both cases and when I drove the 75bhp Sport at the top of the range, I sent it back with some regret.
This is a small car I could live with, thanks to its comfortable ride, sweet sounding engine, decent performance and superb economy.
Oddly for a city car and most unlike the last VW group attempt at a tiddler - the Lupo - it will seat four in comfort. But it can't carry five because there are only four belts.
Road-holding and handling are brilliant, with huge grip that goes on forever and less roll that I expected considering the soft ride.
But the rear windows in the five door don't wind down and that's pretty cheapskate in my book, when they do in cheaper cars.
It comes with electric front windows but there's no passenger window switch for the driver and there are only outer fresh air vents too.
Remote locking is standard, as are heated electric mirrors, aircon, height adjust column and seatand 60/40 split fold back seat. The boot is a decent size but the rear shelf doesn't lift.
