ANYONE in the market for a people carrier knows about the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 but at the lower end of the company's range is one some may have overlooked.
The Partner Tepee might be based on a van but it certainly doesn't drive like one. It shares many parts with the 308 and feels much more car-like to drive than some other MPVs.
I drove the range topping Outdoor, with the 115bhp diesel engine and five-speed gearbox but there are two other lower powered diesels and also two petrols to choose from.
The Tepee is lower and wider than the Combi it replaced and therefore handling and road-holding are surprisingly good, with plenty of grip and not much roll.
The power-steering is light and easy and this, together with a reasonably tight turning circle and vertical rear, make it easy to park.
Ride comfort is very good and the suspension can cope with rougher road surfaces in its stride.
The Tepee packs versatility, functionality and durability into an excellent family package that is only slightly larger than a hatchback.
Outdoor trim brings plenty of interior space and a huge boot, along with alloys, electric heated mirrors, aircon, cruise, extra body protection and raised ride height for gentle off-roading.
