Vauxhall fires up
Tourer power
VAUXHALL has followed the same path it trod with the popular Astra and Insignia models by introducing its sequential twin-turbo diesel technology to the Zafira Tourer people carrier range.
Powered by a 2.0-litre 195PS diesel engine, the Zafira Tourer BiTurbo has a top speed of 135mph and can accelerate from 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds, making it one of the fastest diesel-powered, seven-seat MPVs on the market.
Start/Stop technology also helps the BiTurbo achieve a combined fuel economy figure of 50.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 149g/km.
This latest model, which will cost from £27,685 when it arrives in the spring, expands the Zafira Tourer's powertrain choice to four diesel and two petrol engines.
Cars will be available in SE, SRi or Elite trims with options like FlexRide adaptive chassis control system, AFL adaptive forward lighting system and a panoramic windscreen.
Extra flexibility inside the Zafira Tourer is provided by the new generation Flex7 seating system, including a lounge seating set-up to give passengers extra space in the second row.
Vauxhall chief Duncan Aldred said: "Vauxhall is currently the only manufacturer to offer a sophisticated BiTurbo engine on a seven-seat MPV. It provides a perfect blend of high performance, impressive fuel economy and premium class quality in a seven-seat layout."
