A STYLISH new entry level Graphite model costing £15,995 will herald Ford's upgraded Mondeo line-up.

The brand is also introducing a special Titanium X Business Edition boasting advanced technology and more luxury for an extra £6,000.

And Mondeo models equipped with the company's 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine - available in all versions bar Titanium X Sport - offer CO2 emissions from just 119g/km across both 140PS and 163PS power outputs.

That's a reduction of up to 10g/km, while fuel consumption is improved from 57.6mpg to 61.4mpg.

It follows a re-calibration of the diesel unit along with improved aerodynamics to achieve the 119g/km from the five-door Mondeo and 120g/km for the estate model, qualifying the cars for annual road tax of £30, down from £105.

Included in the Graphite version's standard kit are 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lamps, body colour bumpers, door handles and mirrors plus rear spoiler, while the interior features the likes of CD/MP3 sound system, air-con, Bluetooth, electric windows and leather steering wheel.

The Titanium X Business Edition offers more technology and luxury, contributing to residual values five percentage points higher than the outgoing Mondeo Titanium X, despite prices being £1,500 lower on the new model.

Kit includes full leather trim, touchscreen sat-nav, LED daytime running lights, rear privacy glass, parking sensors, DAB radio and USB connectivity, Bluetooth, Ford Power Start, ambient lighting and automatic headlights.

Ford Britain chief Mark Ovenden said: "This upgrade offers Mondeo customers more features, at a more competitive price, as well as outstanding fuel economy."
