Bubble pops up for
Spark fans
IT won't just be supporters of Premier League club West Ham blowing pretty bubbles in the air this autumn.
At least that will be the hope of Chevrolet when the American giant showcases its new convenience and safety enhancements at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.
Among the design highlights is a new Bubble edition of the Spark city car which the brand believes will draw more drivers to become fans of its most popular model in Europe.
The Spark Bubble carries a sporty bumper, side rocker mouldings, 15-inch white painted alloy wheels as well as white or pink-coloured Bubble decals on the front fenders.
And the centre console and inserts have been styled to match the interior colour pattern while the seats are made of leatherette.
Inside, the instrument cluster and trims have been restyled and a new radio with Bluetooth is standard on most trim levels along with a CD player, USB and aux-in jacks. Prices have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile those who intend to buy an Aveo small hatchback with the Chevrolet MyLink connected radio will also get a rear-view camera connected to the unit's seven-inch touch screen.
Also starting this autumn, a choice of four petrol engines will be available on all body styles of the Cruze family car - a 100bhp 1.4-litre and 140bhp 1.4 Turbo, plus 1.6 and 1.8-litre units - plus a trio of diesels including the 1.7-litre model producing only 99g/km of emissions.
And the Orlando MPV will be available with Side Blind Spot Alert while the new Trax small SUV will have the option of a front-wheel-drive layout for cars powered by the 1.4-litre Turbo petrol engine.
