Ferrari goes extra
special
A NEW streamlined stunner from Ferrari is ready to wow the crowds at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.
It's the 458 Speciale boasting a whopping 596bhp from its mid-rear engine, the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever from the Italian brand.
Thanks to its weight/power ratio, the Ferrari can blast from 0-62mph in just 3.0 seconds and has clocked an exceptional lap time of just 1:23.5 at the Fiorano circuit.
The most notable features are the front and rear movable aerodynamics which balance downforce and cut drag, helping make the 458 Speciale the most aerodynamically efficient range production car in Ferrari history.
The technology used is said to give the driver instant confidence and control at high speeds and one of the most innovative features is the Side Slip angle Control system, which makes it easier to achieve control of the 458 on the limit.
And it will be shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tyres specifically honed for track test and simulator sessions - especially in the wet.
Ferrari says much of the technology featured in the 458 Speciale, including its advanced active aerodynamics, will become a standard feature of all new Ferraris in the future.
Expect the car to cost around £200,000.
