AUDI is a name synonymous with premium branding and quality products and the luxurious A6 is no exception.

With dynamic performance, top quality refinement throughout, a whole host of built-in techno treats and eye-catching good looks, the A6 really is the complete package for anyone looking for an upmarket saloon car that ticks all the boxes when clocking up long distances.

First impressions are vital and the A6 doesn't disappoint with its sleek streamlined body shape known as the Tornado line.

The bullet-like aerodynamics are further enhanced by sweeping LED headlights with high-beam assist which automatically switches between main beam and normal, striking 19-inch alloys and LED rear lights.

The interior boasts the finest leathers and trim to create a warm, welcome and luxurious cabin environment for all occupants.

Creature comforts are plentiful and include an excellent air con system, a slide and tilt sunroof, a highly efficient infotainment package with an amazing audio system complete with BOSE surround sound, 6.5-inch colour display that folds away into the dashboard, sat nav, Bluetooth, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats and plenty more.

But there is so much more to the A6 than lavish extravagance and a price-tag that is just a few pounds short of £60,000. It handles pretty impressively too.

The 3.0-litre diesel engine can power the larger-than-life saloon from 0-62mph in just 5.1 seconds and the acceleration through the eight-speed automatic transmission is so smooth you barely notice it.

The driver can control the gear changes via steering wheel-mounted paddles if required.

Another factor certainly worth noting is how quiet the cabin is. Once the doors are closed it is like being cocooned in your own little travel machine.

Even when moving at higher speeds or driving on uneven surfaces there is barely any sound from the engine or road surface.

All passengers are treated to plenty of space and back seat passengers can really stretch out in style with ample leg, head and shoulder room.

The boot is generously sized and can hold 530 litres of luggage, which can be increased to 995 litres with the rear seats folded flat. And elsewhere, there are plenty of smaller storage compartments scattered throughout the car.

As one would expect, Audi has kitted out the A6 with a whole host of safety features, including anti-lock brakes, electronic stabilisation program, tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic wipers and lights, seat belt monitoring, park assist, numerous airbags and lots more.

This car also featured Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system which helps keep you safe and in control under all circumstances.

The A6 is designed to be the perfect vehicle for anyone who drives long distances but wants to travel in comfort and arrive refreshed no matter what the mileage. I clocked up some 500 miles during my drive and never once tired of driving the car.
