BENTLEY has added a new member to its sporty Continental line-up with the world premiere of the new GT V8 S at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Available as both a coupe and convertible, the V8 S features an uprated version of the Crewe brand's twin-turbo 4.0-litre engine that now develops 521bhp and 680Nm of torque.

There are also suspension modifications plus new exterior and interior features.

The GT V8 S coupe sprints from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 192mph, while figures for the convertible see the sprint to 60mph from a standing start take 4.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 191mph. Both can cover over 500 miles on a single tank of fuel.

Enhancements to the Continental chassis provide greater agility and body control to match the engine's higher output and a more sporty set-up sees ride height lowered by 10mm while the steering and damping have been recalibrated.

Design touches see an aerodynamic front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser finished in Beluga gloss black while new signature 20-inch wheels are exclusive to the V8 S models, and feature an open-spoke design for a clear view of red-painted brake calipers.

While V8 S fender badges complete the styling, the car's visual appeal is matched by a V8 exhaust note that can be amplified further with an optional new sports exhaust.

And the cabin is available with a range of two-tone interiors, choice of 17 hide colours and the coupe also features a contrast centre stripe for the roof lining.

Knurled chrome detailing to the gearshift lever and ventilation controls provides a contrast to Piano Black veneers while V8 S badges are displayed on each sill tread plate.

Both models go on sale early next year.

Also on show at Frankfurt is Bentley's flagship Mulsanne model and the new four-door Flying Spur saloon.
