MOVE over Porsche, much as I love the Boxster and the 911 neither of them looks like the Jaguar F-Type - or sounds like it.

This stupendous two seater is adrenalin on a stick, with an addictive nature that will have you coming back for more and more.

The Boxster might be cheaper - and just as quick - but it just doesn't have the same pzazz, nor the delectable lines, nor the charisma.

The F-Type oozes class and speed even when standing still, and once you fire up all those horses, it's a pure delight.

I drove the V6S in the middle of the range, with a switchable ‘town and country' exhaust and in country mode, it pops and crackles with every swift as light gearchange from the eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Acceleration is awesome - not a word I use lightly - and road holding is stupendous - just as it should be.

Jaguar have designed themselves an absolute winner.

Roof up, the cabin is reasonably quiet and refined and with it down, a wind deflector stops the worst buffeting at speed.

It comes with heated leather power seats, touch screen sat nav, Bluetooth, paddles to change gear manually, hard drive music storage, traction and stability control and parking sensors front and rear.
