CITROEN has kicked off the New Year with a range of special editions for its sporty DS3 supermini line-up.

Called DS3 Pink, the newcomers - exclusive to the UK and costing from £15,675 - aren't actually pink at all but come with a choice of Polar White or Perla Nera Black body colours.

The pink bits comprise an eyecatching fuchsia pink roof, door mirrors and wheel centre caps on the outside, while in the cabin there's a fuchsia dashboard and colour-coded gear lever knob.

All feature additional specification above and beyond the existing DStyle and DSport equipment grades, and there are four engines to choose from across the two trim levels. 

It means the DS3 DStyle Pink is available with either a VTi 120 petrol engine or an e-HDi 90 Airdream diesel powerplant that produces 95g/km of CO2 emissions.

DS3 DSport Pink is powered either by the French brand's THP 155 petrol or an efficient e-HDi 115 Airdream diesel engine, both mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Standard kit on DS3 DStyle Pink includes 16-inch ‘Ashera' Black or White alloy wheels - to match the chosen body colour - as well as a sound system upgrade with additional speakers on top of the usual DStyle specification.

Meanwhile, the range-topping DSport Pink boasts 17-inch ‘Bellone' black or white alloys, plus the addition of a City Signature pack which includes automatic headlights and wipers, rear parking sensors, heated and electric folding door mirrors and a front central armrest.

The VTi 120 manual DStyle Pink kicks off the range at £15,675 while the 78.5mpg e-HDi 90 Airdream manual diesel costs an extra £195.

Topping the line-up is the e-HDi 115 Airdream 6-speed manual DSport at £18,075, and the only extra cost option available is Perla Nera Black paint at £495.
