IF YOU fancy p-p-p-picking up a penguin, head down to your local Fiat dealer and check out a new special edition version of the Panda 4x4 which has been produced by the Italian giant to celebrate 30 years and 500,000 sales of its iconic all-wheel drive city car.
Designed to stand out from the crowd, the Panda 4X4 Antarctica is only available in white with a black roof, orange detailing, diamond-finish 15-inch alloy wheels and special badges ...including a stylised cartoon decal of a penguin on the lower door panel.
It costs from £14,895 and if you think that takes the biscuit, consider what you get for your hard-earned. Inside there's grey and orange upholstery plus numerous additional standard features such as dark-tinted rear privacy glass, a height adjustable driver's seat and three-passenger rear seat with 60:40 split/folding backrests.
Standard spec also includes air conditioning, ESC stability control, an electronic locking differential (ELD), specially tuned suspension, mud-and-snow tyres and rugged bodywork protection all as standard.
The Antarctica special edition can be ordered with either an 85hp 0.9 litre TwinAir petrol engine or a 75hp 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine in time for the March new registration rush. Just 300 will be built for sale in the UK.
