Subaru revamps XV

crossover line-up

Subaru XV

SUBARU has revamped its XV compact crossover line-up with improvements to refinement, ride, handling, safety and cabin quality.

On sale this month from £21,995, the upgraded range sees the 1.6-litre models axed so that every car is now powered by a 2.0-litre petrol or diesel engine.

Those opting for petrol models can choose between a six-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT transmission, while diesel versions are available only with a manual transmission, and there are two trim grades - SE and SE Premium.

Subaru says the most significant improvements to the XV are found in petrol-engine models, which receive suspension modifications to improve ride quality plus fresh components that reduce engine noise.

The electronic power steering system has been revised to improve stability and feel while safety has also been improved courtesy of suspension and body reinforcements.

Inside, the cabin gets higher quality silver surrounds housing the steering wheel buttons and heater controls, new gloss black switches to control the air-con plus the traditional blue Subaru logo on the steering wheel.

And two new features, a tyre pressure monitoring system and instrument cluster gearshift indicator, are now fitted as standard.

Two new colours - Venetian red pearl and Quartz blue pearl - join the range and standard kit includes auto lights and wipers, 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlamps with pop-up wash, Hill Start Assist, dual-zone air-con, knee airbags, rear vision camera and Bluetooth.

SE Premium trim adds sat-nav plus a leather interior and prices are from £21,995 for the Subaru XV 2.0i SE rising to £25,995 for the XV 2.0D SE Premium.
