ONE OF the most exclusive sporting models to hit Britain's roads this year won't be a megabucks supercar ... it will be a Citroen supermini.

Only 10 right hand drive versions of the eagerly-anticipated Citroën DS3 Cabrio Racing are to be produced and dealers are now taking orders for this ultra-limited production run.

The price tag is a hefty £29,305, but enthusiasts willing to invest in this drop-top, pocket rocket will be guaranteed exclusivity not just in the UK, but worldwide with just 100 examples being built in total.

Citroën Racing has built on its experience with the DS3 WRC and DS3 Racing in the development of the car which comes with a 207hp four-cylinder 1.6-litre THP engine. It delivers 30 per cent more power and 15 per cent more torque than the standard THP 155 unit on which it is based. The 0-62mph sprint is covered in just 6.5 seconds and top speed is 145mph.

Suspension, steering and braking systems have been upgraded to cope with the extra power.

The bodywork benefits from sports detailing with hints of carbon fibre and comes only in a matte grey body colour with a black fabric roof and 18-inch black alloy wheels with red DS logo centre caps and red painted brake callipers.

The DS3 Cabrio Racing is based on the top level specification DSport trim, which includes LED daytime running lights, automatic digital air conditioning and rear parking sensors. The model also features the Signature pack, which includes an RDS stereo radio/MP3 compatible CD player with steering mounted controls as well as a Bluetooth system with USB socket and eight speaker HiFi system.
