Ford takes luxury to
the max
FORD'S vision for the future of its up-market luxury sub-brand Vignale has been further revealed in the new S-MAX Concept.
It follows the first sight last year of the Mondeo Vignale, which will go on sale in the UK next spring with the S-MAX following later in 2015.
The new Vignale range, which will be sold only in Europe, is Ford's first venture into the executive luxury class and will be competing against the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes.
Like the Mondeo Vignale, the S-MAX Vignale will boast alloy wheels with fine detailing and high quality finish, chrome mirror caps, a distinctive hexagonal Vignale grille design and unique "Milano Grigio" paint colour.
It also offers exclusive Vignale-embossed seating with hexagonal quilting and high-quality and soft-touch leather with woven texture-embossed aluminium detailing.
The S-MAX will also offer advanced car-to-car communications, tablet device-docking stations for second row seats and an intelligent flexible seating concept with thin seat technology.
Selected Ford dealerships, mainly in large urban areas in the UK, will have dedicated Vignale Lounges and prospective buyers will have a dedicated relationship manager to deal with, as well as VIP collection and delivery services.
The one-to-one experience with the Ford relationship manager will start from the moment you enter the dealership and will include test drives, purchasing, handover and servicing. Vignales will be collected and delivered after servicing or repair with a replacement model of the same make for the customer.
Ford says half of its large cars are sold in high series specification, and that 10 to 15 per cent of customers want an even higher level of specification and individual customer service.
Roelant de Waard, vice president, marketing, sales and service, Ford of Europe, said at the reveal of the new S-MAX Concept in Miland; "We know that many customers are looking for a Ford that's more exclusive and upscale than we currently offer in Europe.
"The other key trend is the desire for a more memorable and personalised ownership experience that is tailored to individuals and respects their time. Vignale will meet these needs in a fresh way."
Ford hasn't revealed how much the new Vignale range will cost but expect the Mondeo and S-MAX to be priced at £30,000-plus.
