F1 style for extra
special Lotus
LOTUS is giving its Exige S line-up a shot of racetrack adrenaline with a new Exige LF1 limited edition model.
This summer some 81 Lotus Exige S cars will receive a Lotus F1 Team inspired livery and interior trim to commemorate the number of Grand Prix victories held by the Lotus marque.
It means the supercharged 3.5-litre V6 Exige S benefits from a striking bespoke black and gold paint scheme with red accents and gold 17-inch front and 18-inch rear cast alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in black and gold while each Exige LF1 will be individually numbered with its own limited edition carbon fibre build plate.
Extras include the Exige Race Pack with Dynamic Performance Management system, two-piece high performance brake discs and high-performance Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tyres.
For drivers wanting to optimise the optional Convenience Pack, heated seats and rear parking sensors are also available.
With its blend of heritage and modern style, the special edition pays homage to the Lotus F1 cars of the past with the sophistication of today's E22.
Serious performance is guaranteed, with the car's 345bhp engine capable of firing the Lotus from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 170mph, yet still able to return a Combined 28.0mph.
Each of the limited edition cars will, in sequence, celebrate a specific Grand Prix from car number one commemorating Lotus' first GP victory at Monaco in 1960 to number 81 marking Kimi Raikkonen's win at Australia in 2013.
And Exige LF1 owners will not only be guaranteed an exclusive driving experience, but they will also automatically become Exige LF1 Members, offering a Lotus F1 experience including a behind the scenes tour of the team factories plus gifts and memorabilia.
Lotus chief Jean-Marc Gales said: "Lotus' DNA is borne of the Formula onearena and with 65 years of motorsport racing experience, 40 of those in F1, it's fitting we celebrate our sporting origins and our race successes with the new Exige LF1."
The car is currently making its public debut at the Canary Wharf Motorexpo in London before moving on to the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.
