Lexus RX 450h Advance

MUSIC lovers can tune in to the clearest sounds around courtesy of a new model from Lexus.

The Japanese brand has just released a new version of its luxury RX 450h, that's not only more generously equipped than before but also includes a Mark Levinson premium 7.1 surround sound system as standard.

Even with the bonus of the bespoke audio package - which has a £1,000 list price - and a set of machined and shaded 19-inch alloy wheels, the price tag for the new Advance model is unchanged, matching its predecessor at £48,495.

The sound system has an array of 15 speakers including a 200mm subwoofer for the most precise reproduction of vocals and instrumentals.

And the package also includes a DVD player, rear-view camera and Lexus's computer mouse-like remote touch audio and navigation control system.

Lexus Premium Navigation and Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls and audio streaming are also provided.

The new RX 450h Advance adopts the package pioneered by its predecessor, building on the established Luxury grade with exterior styling features like a deep front bumper with integrated fog lights and LED headlights.

It incorporates the Lexus I-AFS auto-adaptive system which moves the lighting beam in line with the steering to give better illumination through bends and at junctions.

The price tag also includes the choice of either a sunroof or fixed panoramic roof, along with stuff like Smart Entry and Start, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, leather upholstery, heated eight-way adjustable front seats and rear privacy glass.

Power comes via a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and powerful electric motor to produce a maximum 295bhp for 0-62mph acceleration in less than eight seconds. Combined fuel economy is 44.8mpg and CO2 emissions are 145g/km.
