Techno treats for
new-look Mazda
THERE'S no shortage of choice for Mazda fans eyeing up a 2015 sleek saloon or trendy tourer.
The new Mazda6 line-up, which goes on sale early in the New Year, will comprise no less than 28 models, all upgraded with a fresh design and extra kit.
And the Japanese brand is promising the advent of several sophisticated new technologies in its optional Safety Pack.
Five trim grades are up for grabs - SE, SE Nav, SE-L, SE-L Nav and Sport Nav plus a choice of nine diesel and seven petrol Saloon variants, and nine diesel and three petrol Tourer estates.
Transmissions are six-speed manual or automatic while eight body colours will include a new Sonic Silver metallic.
Every model in the 2015 Mazda6 range features a new instrument panel and centre console design, revised suspension system, improved sound insulation throughout the body and a upgraded standard kit list.
SE and SE-L grades now include Mazda's first electronic parking brake, a coming/leaving home headlamp function, the company's Multimedia Commander with separate volume dial for safe interactivity and info control, manual driver and front passenger seat height adjustment.
A new seven-inch colour centre console touchscreen incorporates DAB radio -a first for Mazda, and MZD Connect - first featured on all-new Mazda3.
Flagship Sport Nav variants add a re-styled front grille with LED headlamps including daytime running lights, LED foglamps, new tail lamps and 19-inch alloy wheels.
On board, a six-way power adjustable front passenger seat, vinyl leather knee pads, a new head-up display and an Integrated Navigation system complete the package.
Newly developed safety features include Adaptive LED headlamps, a Lane-keep Assist system and Blind Spot Monitoring with Driver Alert while Rear Smart City Brake Support operates at speeds between 2 and 5mph when reversing, automatically applying the brakes if the system detects an imminent rear impact.
Prices are from £19,795 for a 2.0-litre Mazda6 SE SKYACTIV-G petrol saloon to £28,795 for a 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D diesel tourer automatic in Sport Nav trim.
