Alfa Romeo Giulietta Business Edition

ALFA ROMEO has launched a new version of its popular Giulietta model aimed specifically at business drivers.

The new Giulietta Business Edition is based on the mid-range Distinctive trim level but with the sort of added features fast becoming essential equipment for user-choosers.

So in addition to stuff like 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, DAB digital radio and Bluetooth with music streaming, the newcomer benefits from a 6.5-inch Uconnect infotainment upgrade with voice-programmable sat-nav and 3D mapping.

It also features the Visibility Pack of dusk and rain sensors, self-dimming rear-view mirror and power folding door mirrors, front seat electric lumbar support, front parking sensors and metallic paint.

Four low emissions engines are up for grabs, starting with a 1.6-litre JTDM-2 turbodiesel producing 105bhp and CO2 of 104g/km.

This unit can return a Combined fuel figure of 70.6mpg and carries a benefit-in-kind rate of 16 per cent.

There is also a new 2.0-litre JTDM-2 diesel with 150bhp and 110g/km of CO2, economy of 67.3mpg and a BiK rate of 18 per cent. Both these engines have a six-speed manual transmission.

These units both have Alfa's six-speed TCT twin dry-clutch transmission.

Not only does the Business Edition offer more than £2,000 worth of extra kit compared to the Distinctive model, its on the road price is lower when both are equipped with comparable engines.

Prices are from £18,990 for the 1.6 JTDM-2 105bhp six-speed manual model rising to £22,450 for the JTDM-2 II 175bhp six-speed TCT variant.

The original Alfa Romeo Giulietta was a milestone car for the brand as it made the Alfa badge more accessible to a wider audience when originally unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1954. By the time the show had ended, some 700 orders had been taken.
