VOLKSWAGEN has lifted the wraps on a luxurious special edition of its Amarok pick-up truck.

Costing from £29,555, the Ultimate boasts the highest standard specifications ever offered on an Amarok model and will be limited to 500 vehicles.

The exterior design is distinguished by bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels and double chrome strips on the radiator grille.

And available for the first time on an Amarok are LED daytime running lights that frame the headlights and give the vehicle a unique light signature at night.

Standard kit also includes electrically foldable, heated and adjustable door mirrors featuring enhanced chrome detailing while darkened tail light lenses and a new LED number plate light complete the exterior design.

Inside, the Amarok Ultimate features a business-class travelling experience courtesy  of Alcantara-trimmed seats, leather multifunction steering wheel, alloy pedal covers on auto versions,  heated driver and front passenger seats and sat-nav.

A reversing parking camera is also part of the Ultimate's standard spec list, along with rear privacy glass and Bluetooth.

Beneath the bonnet is a 2.0-litre BiTDI 180PS diesel engine and customers can pick between the six-speed manual selectable 4MOTION or eight-speed auto-permanent 4MOTION transmission.

Two colours, Reflex Silver or Deep Black, are up for grabs - each with ‘Ultimate' decals on the side doors - and prices are from £29,555 (excluding VAT) for the manual transmission rising to £30,970 (ex-VAT) for the automatic transmission.
