DRIVING the stunningly beautiful Jaguar F-Type is like the first day of the holidays or a big win at the bookies.

I just couldn't get enough of the V6 Coupe and took half a day off to go for a blast on some uncluttered roads, just to make sure there was no juice left in the tank.

What a superb machine - truly outstanding and right up there with the Porsche Cayman.

Power comes from that supercharged 3.0-litre V6, giving brilliant performance. Foot down and away it goes, leaving you hanging onto the steering wheel as if your life depended on it.

The engine is smooth as silk and the whole car is decently quiet at speed, but that V6 delivers a lovely aural blast as the revs are pushed higher.

Drive is to the rear wheels through a standard eight-speed automatic with sport and manual modes and the changes are quick and slick.

Road hodling and handling, helped by a raft of electronic aids, are superb and I want one.

Inside is half leather upholstery, a very driver focussed cockpit with everything beautifully to hand and an excellent level of equipment including sat nav.

It's a strict two seater but the boot is big enough for a long weekend's luggage or a set of golf clubs. The ambiance is pure Jaguar at its best, and I love it.
