KIA'S new downsized 1.0-litre turbo gasoline direct injection engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will debut in the cee'd GT Line model set to debut at next week's Geneva Motor Show.

The GT Line trim grades offers buyers the sharp looks of the Korean brand's high performance cee'd GT and pro_cee'd GT combined with the versatility of the conventional cee'd model family.

Style sees ice-cube LED daytime running lights and deeper bumpers surround Kia's trademark tiger-nose grille while at the rear of the car, both the hatchback and pro_cee'd include the wider GT bumper and twin exhausts.

Fans of the Sportswagon get a car fitted with dual exhausts and a subtle rear diffuser and all GT Line models are fitted as standard with side sill mouldings, rear LED lights and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the GT Line sees an upgraded interior with a sportier ambience inspired by the cabin of the current turbo-powered GT models.

There's also new grey, white and black upholstery with grey stitching, GT Line logos plus the same piano black and leather steering wheel and aluminium alloy pedals fitted to GT models.

The dashboard also gets an aluminium start-stop button, GT-inspired centre fascia design, illumination for the USB and aux-in ports and chrome trim around the air vents and power window switches.

Meanwhile the new 120PS 1.0-litre T-GDi engine has been engineered to improve fuel consumption and emissions, and is also the first of Kia's upcoming range of downsized engines to debut in Europe.

The promise is of lower CO2 emissions than the 1.6-litre GDI engine found in other cee'd models and the engine has Kia's fuel-saving ISG system as standard and is available with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The cee'd's 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine has also been upgraded for GT Line, with power increased from 128 to 133PS.

Cars will be available from next autumn.
