THE hunt is on to find Britain's favourite Ford.
Fans of the Blue Oval brand are being asked to nominate the model they feel should top the list ahead of the Classic Ford Show at Santa Pod, Bedfordshire, next month.
And whether it's a Cortina or Cosworth, Model T or Mexico, the show organisers are looking to establish which classic Ford is the nation's all-time number one, with the winner due to be announced in advance of the June 5 event.
The survey will run until Friday, May 13, and entrants can expand on the reasons for their choice at a special website.
The Classic Ford Show, in association with Admiral Insurance, will host thousands of the best Fords in Britain, from both club exhibitors and individuals.
The promise is of a wide variety of standard, tuned and modified cars on display at the show, which will feature an exclusive Ford-only Run What Ya Brung on the drag strip, open to visitors and their cars.
The quarter-mile contest will give guests the chance to pit their own Fords against each other, and drivers will receive a full performance print-out showing reaction time, speed and the time it took to complete the sprint.
Another highlight of the show will be a series of Ford Drag Car demos, featuring some of Santa Pod's most famous Ford-based dragsters.
The hotted-up Capris, Sierras, Anglias, Fiestas and others will be available to view in the pit area, where showgoers can get up close to the cars and their drivers.
Santa Pod will also be hosting a few runs with the strip's FireForce Jet Car, powered by the engine from a Skycrane helicopter and blasting out around 10,000bhp and 5,000lbs of thrust.
In addition, there will be live stunt displays, drift trikes and the opportunity for showgoers to win a Ford Focus ST, which is currently being transformed by Classic Ford's sister publication Fast Ford.
