THE all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV will cost from £21,795 when it goes on sale next month ahead of deliveries in the New Year.

First models will be in showrooms from January 28 and the 17 model line up will top out from £32,995 for high specification GT versions.

The UK range starts with a "level 2" specification vehicle so that every model will feature the latest Peugeot i-Cockpit which includes a digital instrument panel, a compact steering whee and an eight-inch touch-screen.

Compared to the outgoing model the newcomer offers more equipment at entry level and is also significantly larger.

The range starts with the Active specification model that includes automatic emergency braking systems, adaptive driver and front passenger airbags, driver and front passenger side, front and rear curtain airbags, dynamic stability control and electronic anti-skid system, driver attention alert system, Isofix child seat fittings in the front passenger and outer rear seats, programmable cruise control and speed limiter.

As a consequence the new 3008 has a 5-star EuroNCAP safety awardd and insurance ratings from 11E.

There is a choice of four trim levels - Active, Allure, GT Line and the top-of-the-range GT - and a variety of petrol and diesel engines with CO2 emissions from 103g/km.

Petrol engine outputs are 130bhp and 165bhp with COemissions of 117 to 129g/km, with the 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder turbo engine and the 1.6 THP.

The PureTech 130 is available in six-speed manual or EAT6 automatic transmission while the 165bhp is mated to the six-speed EAT6 automatic and available only in GT Line trim priced from £27,895.

Four diesel engines with Peugeot's BlueHDi technology will be offered with emissions between 103 and 124g/km and power outputs of 100, 120, 150 and 180bhp. Diesel prices start from £22,845 and top out with the 180bhp version in the GT.
