All-new VW set for
Geneva debut
THREE months ahead of its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen is providing a first look at the styling of its new premium saloon, the Arteon which sits above the Passat in the upper mid-class.
In addition to a new outline Volkswagen is also introducing with the Arteon a new brand look with the car taking a low, wide stance.
According to VW the bars of the radiator grille extend out into three-dimensional headlights while LED lighting elements add to the layout.
As a sketch released by VW shows the four-door coupe-like saloon also features frameless windows typical of a grand tourer. It also has a top-hinged, wide-opening tailgate and large boot.
Tobias Suhlmann, exterior designer of the Arteon, said: "At first sight, the Arteon arouses enthusiasm through its expressive design. It then surprises through its practical virtues. This combination is unique."
The new Arteon is being publicly unveiled for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will be launched in summer 2017.
