THIS is a glimpse of what Mitsubishi is about to reveal as the first of a new generation of SUVs.

Yet to be named, the sporty, coupe-like SUV will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March and Mitsubishi say it will mark a turning point for the Japanese manufacturer.

It is due to line up alongside the new Mitsubishi ASX and Mitsubishi Outlander to broaden the brand's model range and introduce a whole new audience to Mitsubishi Motors - a brand long associated with tough and capable SUVs and 4X4s.

This new, compact SUV will feature highly chamfered contours with a wedge-shaped belt line and a distinctive V-line in the rear quarter stemming from the forward-slanted rear pillar and a chunky, back bumper.
