AN elite band of just 106 mega-rich drivers around the world will eventually own this sleek new McLaren- and this newly released design sketch gives them an early clue as to what they can expect.

Codenamed the BP23, it will be the most powerful and most aerodynamic road-going McLaren ever and is being billed as a "Hyper GT" by its makers. It will be an ultra-luxurious three-seater car with a hybrid powertrain.

Development of the BP23 is currently underway at McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the bespoke division of McLaren responsible for designing and crafting limited edition models as part of the McLaren Ultimate Series product family. The BP23 codename is taken from the car being MSO's second bespoke project and it having three seats.

It's a money's-no-object car, but if you've got deep pockets and fancy one - you're too late, for all 106 examples have been pre-sold. The lucky owners will be able to work alongside McLaren staff to select colours, trim materials and other points of personalisation unique to them.

The first examples are expected to be delivered in 2019.
